My Story
Being native to Montana and a proud descendent of the Blackfeet tribe, I grew up in the Cut Bank area near Glacier National Park. After living and working in Phoenix, Arizona for the past 30 years, I recently moved back to Cut Bank to re-establish my roots in this beautiful state.
For as long as I can remember, creativity has been an integral part of my life. Over the last seven years I taught art to k-8 students and was a self employed hair stylist for 32 years. Throughout this time, I have worked to develop my style of artwork by creating and producing various genres of art on different types of mediums. My love for floral and fauna have brought me back to the mountains where my heart has always remained.
I am a mixed media artist who balances between abstraction and landscape art. The core of my work is based on nature and a nod to ledger art from my blackfeet culture. As an artist, I have always been consumed with nature's simplicity and in awe of its ever changing environment. The change of the seasons is forever happening and my art continues to evolve through the influence of what is happening around me. I have found this to be the bridge to the connections between my own history, culture and environment
Through teaching, I have come to realize the value and the role art has in shaping our perspectives of the world. I enjoy sharing the TAB (Teaching Artistic Behavior) art making process with others and love providing the opportunity for others to explore, engage and create works of art that are a reflection of one's self.
